Questions & Answers
The IPTV Team's Reflective Question: "What are you going to take home with you from this trip?" Peter: For societies to have flourished here for thousands of years, under relatively harsh conditions, we humans must not need much to survive. Perhaps I can get by with less, also. John: There is a feeling you have when taking the backroads of New Mexico, you are an intruder...touching on sacred ground. And in many instances you are. I've been amazed at the lay of the land. It can be hilly and rolling one minute and flat as a pancake the next. Our trip to Los Alamos where the first atomic bomb was developed offered a stark reality of how much life has changed in this region over the years. In 30 minutes, we traveled from the home of "the bomb" to the cave dwelling homes of the Puye. It was here, the Puye lived a simple life from 1100 to 1500 A.D. Family was the special ingredient to their living and it remains that way today in most Indian communities. Simple is indeed the way to go...complication adds chaos. Jenny: I feel I have learned so much, yet only a fraction about the people, their cultures and lifestyle. I'm hooked on the whole region and know I'll be back again. I will go home with great memories of meeting new friends, warm welcomes and great food! Theresa: Life can easily become unnecessarily complicated. I'm lucky to have had the chance this week to spend some time with people who seem to have a strong sense of what is really important. I've learned a great deal from the places we've been and the people we've met and will try to remember it forever.
