Questions & Answers
Questions & Answers Day 4: Q1: Brad from Iowa asked Peter the following Questions: My questions are for Peter, the video guy. Peter, since you are from Iowa, I bet you are not really used to tromping around in the desert. What did you wish you would have brought on your quest that you didn't? Are your lips getting chapped? Are you getting sand in your shoes? A1: I packed more for winter than warm early spring days, so I'm a little over dressed for the warm weather we've experienced. Yes, my lips are chapped, and I have more dust than sand in my shoes. Q2: Theresa's TAG Class, Nevada, Iowa asked: As we follow the quest, we were wondering why the team zigzags back and forth across the Quest area so much rather than follow a circle pattern or something like that? A2: Dan says they really do respond to the votes from students following on the AmericaQuest Web site. So they go where the majority votes for them to go. Q3: Kate's classes, Nevada, Iowa asked: We have been discussing the various theories on why the Anasazi left--environment, warfare, migration and, as of today, religion. After being with Dan and the team for a few days, which theory are you guys leaning toward? We feel as if the mystery has grown more mysterious during the quest! A3: Dan suggests you take special notice of their last report at the end of the week. When the Iowa team visited a cliff dwelling, abandoned several hundred years ago, the guide was sure it was because local springs dried up. The people then moved off the mesa into the Rio Grand valley.
