Project Goals
By studying Iowa history through My Community Connections, students will:
- Identify the characteristics of a community.
- Understand ways in which communities express themselves.
- Learn that there are communities within communities.
- Identify the places of origin and settlement of Iowa's people.
- Focus on cities, towns, farms and other communities.
- Investigate the development and history of selected communities.
- Compare and contrast Iowa communities.
- Utilize technology for information research and report generation.
- Plan a model 21st century Iowa community.
- Communicate project reports using technology (via computers, videoconferencing, Internet or email).
